Meet The Team
DIRECTORS

SUE & EDDIE
The co-founders of Studio Crafts. Eddie has over 50 years in the trade and having worked or managed every area of the retail and workshop he has probably forgotten more than most of us know. Eddie is now semi retired now but keeps his hand in on the bench with some setting work and of course a consulting role.
With over 40 years experience in the trade Sue brings a new meaning to the word multitasking. If sue isn’t answering the phone to one of our many trade customers or serving a client in our shop then she is doing the next VAT return.

SAM & PHIL
Sam has been with the company now 18 years. With most of her time spent managing the shop and creating the themed windows which look amazing. Sam now finds herself at the sharp end of the book keeping and helping of the day to day running of the family business.
Phil has been with the company 14 years. After gaining his jewellers diploma and spending 6 years learning the retail side of the business, Phil moved into the workshop to learn the basics of bench work and then into the workshop office to obtain the all round experience that he needs to run the very busy workshop. Phil takes care of the day to day running of the family business. He continues to keep his hand in the retail area meeting the clients that have specific bespoke requirements and working on designs to help bring their ideas to reality.
GOLDSMITHS

CHRIS
Chris joined the trade when he was 15 years old, in 1975. He has been with our company for 14 years. Chris works closely with Phil organizing the workshop other duties include helping to create the designs and computer illustrations for customer to view. Chris is a jack of all trades and has done his time in the finishing shop, office and delivery aspects of the business. He has spent the last few years training on the bench to set and repair rings.

DAVE
Dave has been in the trade 30 years now and with studio crafts 17 years. He specializes in fine handmade jewellery, particularly in platinum. David experience and knowledge of the trade is astonishing and his combination of artistry and technical understanding helps greatly when designing new bespoke projects. Being a perfectionist you can always rely on him to strive for customer satisfaction and he continues to outdo himself with every new piece he makes. Dave’s work can be found in the gallery

BILL
Bill has been with Studio Crafts for 18 years now and a total of 27 years in the trade. He is Mr. Versatile there isn’t much that Bill can’t do. One week he could be hand making a fine pendant and the next re riveting a gold bracelet or re setting a diamond into a ring. Some of Bill’s work will be found on the gallery page.

PETE
Pete is one of the most experienced goldsmiths with 40 years in the trade spending 16 years with the company. Pete is the master restorer. He can take a worn out Victorian diamond ring and make it look like new. Pete takes on all our major rebuild work and using his carving skills is also the man for re-patterning rings. Some of Pete’s work can been seen in the gallery.

JON
Jon has worked in the trade for 31 years and been with Studio Crafts 12 years. Jon is one of the most passionate craftsmen you could meet. For when Jon isn’t working on jobs for the companies clients he is busy working on his own designs and making pieces for friends and family. Jon has a special interests in Silver and old manufacturing techniques. Jon has made some very unusual pieces including the 22ct gold bow tie and a silver castle both of which are on the gallery page.

JIM
Jim joined Studio Crafts when he was just 17 and has been with us 17 years. He has learnt the trade from the ground up and is now mainly restoring rings to their former glory. One of Jim’s strengths is his ability to size rings that other craftsmen wouldn’t touch

BARRY
Barry is Mr dependable, he is able to undertake a wide variety of repairs including ring sizing, bracelet & earring repairs and rebuilds, watch bracelet repairs and much more. With 39 years in the trade and 12 years with Studio Crafts Barry has a wide variety of experience to draw on.

LISA
Lisa has been a revelation for Studio Crafts. With a BA (hons) degree in Jewellery behind her and was already involved in the jewellery industry in London. She contacted Studio Crafts seeking more hands on experience of the trade. After meeting with Lisa her passion and dedication was obvious and after spending time in the workshop once a week she soon progressed to a full time position. Lisa has worked for Studio Crafts full time now for a year and a half and has really flourished. She has already made some stunning pieces for the shop and still continues to design and make her own collection.

STEVE W
Steve is Sam’s husband and joined the company in 2002. When he joined he asked of one thing and that was he didn’t want to be bored. He has been trained to repair chains, he backs up the polishing team, he goes out to deliver and collect the jewellery for the trade side. Not to mention he is in charge of the property maintenance. One thing can be said Steve does NOT get bored.
FINISHING

STEVE G
Steve has worked for Studio Crafts for 14 years and has been in the trade 36 years. He is our main finisher making sure that all pieces of jewellery the other craftsmen have worked on come out looking their best. A much underrated part of the workshop activities. Having been trained in Hatton garden, Steve brings a wealth of experience to the polishing shop.

NEV
Nev has been polishing jewellery for 51 years and has been with Studio Crafts 20 years. As you can imagine there is not a lot he doesn’t know about finishing jewellery and is always coming up with little techniques that help the whole team. Although not working full time now his knowledge makes him a highly valued member of the team.
OFFICE
KAY
Kay is the senior administrative coordinator. She has worked for the Studio Crafts for 7 years and is an integral part of the team. Kay is responsible for checking all the work into the company, and, invoicing and helping to inspect all the completed jewellery to make sure it is up to our high standards before it leaves our premises. Kay is also the first point of contact for all our trade customers and she helps with any queries they may have.
SHONA
Shona joined Studio Crafts in 2004 and quickly become a very important part of the team. Shona is responsible for contacts with all our external suppliers as well as the upkeep of our stock levels. Other responsibilities include selecting stones to be fitted by the craftsmen and ensuring they have the tools and findings to complete the jobs. Shona is also on the front line of the problem solving part of the team, dealing directly with our trade customers to iron out any difficulties that occur.
SHOP
JUNE
June has been in the trade 27 years and with Studio Crafts 14 years, when she joined the workshop to repair chains and size rings. After 6 years a position came up to manage the shop which June accepted. With her bench experience June has brought some great knowledge to the shop and at the same time has learnt the art of selling. With her wonderful customer repore she keeps them coming back time and time again.
MARGARET
Margaret has been with the company 7 years. Over the years she has learnt all aspects of retail and with her bubbly personality makes sure our customers are always entertained....
EDWINA
Edwina has worked part time in the shop for 5 years and has become a very dependable and valued member of the team.
JEN
Jen is the other full time team member in the shop and has been with Studio Crafts 2 years. She has a keen eye for display and has made the windows look great. Jen has great customer skills and continues to learn well.
